Where Does My WordPress Website Store Images?
WordPress has a built-in feature managing all your media files like pictures, videos, audio files and other documents. You can access your media via Media section in your admin area. Go to Library page to manage your media.
WordPress stores images and other media files in a special folder on your hosting server called the uploads folder. Go to wp-content folder to find it. Your media files are grouped monthly or yearly. To view these media files you will need either to connect to your hosting account using an FTP client, or to use File Manager app under your WordPress hosting account control panel.
WordPress also keeps the information about your media files in the database as the attachment post type.
Moreover, when you upload images to your posts or pages, WordPress stores their information in the posts meta table.
Be careful, if you delete an image from your server using FTP client, it will be shown as broken one on your website.
