What Do I Do if PHP WordPress Updates Go Wrong?
PHP is a an open-source programmimg language used for WordPress websites. To check what PHP version your website uses go to Tools > Site Health > Info, scroll down, click Server to expand the field.
Your web host usually makes all necessary updates automatically. You will receive a notification and you need to prepare for the update. You have to do a complete WordPress backup and WordPress updates.
There is aways a small chance that something can go wrong. If so, check if the problem is in PHP update and not in a plugin or theme. Then contact your web host support. Most likely they’re already working on solving the problem.
If the support team can’t help, install a new WordPress and restore your website from a backup duplicate.
