What is A Blogroll in WordPress?

A blogroll has a long history in blogging culture. It is a list of your other blogs or blogs you admire. The list contains link to these blogs.

Earlier blogging was more personal, and people shared the links to the blogs they liked. Then when blogging became more common, a blogroll feature became less popular.

WordPress had the blogroll feature as the built-in one. First it was called Links, then they renamed it to Blogroll, then it was renamed to Links again. Later it became a plugin. But good news is that you don’t need any plugins to add the blogroll feature to your website now.

It’s useful because it gives you the opportunity to share the blogs you like, commonly the ones you or your company own.
