How to Add a Blogroll to WordPress?

Usually you use navigation menus to add links to your website footer, navigation bar, etc. But the navigation menu can also be used for creating a blogroll.

Go to Appearance > Menus. In the opened tab you need to give a name to your menu. Here you can write Blogroll, and it will be easily identified later.

Don’t forget to click the Create menu button to save the changes.

Then find the Custom Link tab in the left-hand menu and expand it by clicking an arrow sign. Enter the URL of a WordPress website, a blog title, and click the Add to Menu button.

Repeat the process as many times as you need. When you’re done, click the Save Menu button.

If the websites you added are yours, you can leave them as is. But if they aren’t yours, it’s better to make them nofollow to keep your SEO on a good level.

Click the Screen Options button at the upper right corner of a browser window. Check the boxes Link Target and Link Relationship (XFN), scroll down to the URLs you added to the menu, click the Custom Link option. You need to check the box Open in a new tab. Then find the Link Relationship (XFN) section and enter “nofollow” under it. Repeat the process for each link and push the Save Menu button.

Now you need to add the blogroll to your WordPress website. Go to Appearance > Widgets, click the plus icon. It will add a Navigation Menu widget to your website sidebar. Enter the data and save the changes. If you want to add it to your website footer, go to Appearance > Widgets, scroll to the footer widget section and select a Navigation Menu widget. Fill in the details and save the changes.
