When WordPress is used as a software for back-end, and front-end displays the data with the help of other technologies, it is called headless WordPress. It allows developers use different technologies and keep the website secure and stable at the same time.

Back-end is your admin area. From here you can manage the content, the comments, install the plugins, etc.

Front-end is what the website visitors see in their web-browsers. Some of the technologies used for the front-end are React.js, Angular.js and others.

Headless WordPress website has some advantages compared to WordPress websites:

– integration of the WordPess data into the other apps;
– publishing data on multiple platforms.

Please note that is more expensive than a traditional WordPress website, not all plugins will be compatible and headless WordPress is difficult when it comes to maintenance. Since there are different technologies used, they need to be maintained differently.
