Goal

Over the years, Digital Octane has successfully partnered with multiple agencies and provided a wide range of strategic services. In this project, our challenge was to animate Big Day’s creative design breathing life into the static elements of the site and making them dynamic. Additionally, our team has developed an intuitive admin panel which allows Big Day to manage their content effortlessly and efficiently. We also succeeded in establishing a custom landing page builder. This system allows the client to design new landing pages independently, without our assistance.

This project was especially important and challenging because our main goal was to develop the website for the agency itself – its storefront. At this very point, looking at the main page of the site, the client decides whether to contact this company or not. Therefore, it was essential to do everything flawlessly and thoroughly test the final result.

For the Work page, we established a custom builder using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), based on pre-designed content blocks. This flexible and user-friendly solution helps to create portfolio pages easily. By employing our pre-designed content blocks, we not only maintained design consistency but also streamlined the process of adding content for our future projects.

Furthermore, the client provided a full set of animation references that simplified the whole process. Before work began, we engaged in several detailed discussions to clarify the project requirements thoroughly. This communicative approach was instrumental in preventing misunderstandings and ensuring that all work was carried out exactly to the client’s requirements from the outset.

We began our project by implementing the frontend in accordance with the design mockups. We focused on the main task first: creating a wave animation in the hero section of the homepage. To accomplish this, our team utilized libraries provided by the client. A core component of our work was to guarantee that the animation operated smoothly when users navigate between the various slides of the slider.

In order to integrate this new feature, we had to modify the library in accordance with the reference example specified by the client:

Liquid Distortion Effect – Example 5. This customization was vital in ensuring that the wave animation performed correctly, especially when switching between slides in the slider.

Additionally, we took on the challenge of animating a fisheye. It was also necessary to create the effect that the eye is following the text that the user is typing into the contact form. Finding a suitable visual style proved to be quite difficult. The originally provided graphics didn’t quite fit our design intent, which prompted us to create the eye ourselves using SVG code. This allowed us to not only meet but exceed the given aesthetic and functional criteria.

The rest of the project was quite straightforward. Our team completed the frontend development and successfully integrated it into the website. Then we conducted extensive quality assurance testing. And once we made sure the website worked and looked great, we moved it to a live domain and performed technical SEO to ensure quick indexing by search engines.

Result:

As a result, we’ve developed a fast, reliable, easy to manage and highly responsive website for the agency that serves them well on a daily basis.

And with a flexible and user-friendly constructor that we have developed, the client continues to add new projects to the Work page independently.
