Goal

Over the years, Digital Octane has successfully partnered with multiple agencies and provided a wide range of strategic services. In this project, our challenge was to animate Big Day’s creative design breathing life into the static elements of the site and making them dynamic. Additionally, our team has developed an intuitive admin panel which allows Big Day to manage their content effortlessly and efficiently. We also succeeded in establishing a custom landing page builder. This system allows the client to design new landing pages independently, without our assistance.

This project was especially important and challenging because our main goal was to develop the website for the agency itself – its storefront. At this very point, looking at the main page of the site, the client decides whether to contact this company or not. Therefore, it was essential to do everything flawlessly and thoroughly test the final result.

For the Work page, we established a custom builder using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), based on pre-designed content blocks. This flexible and user-friendly solution allows the client to create and manage portfolio pages with minimal effort. By using these predefined blocks, we maintained design consistency across the site and streamlined the process of adding new content for future projects.

Furthermore, the client provided a full set of animation references that simplified the whole process. Before work began, we engaged in several detailed discussions to clarify the project requirements thoroughly. This communicative approach was instrumental in preventing misunderstandings and ensuring that all work was carried out exactly to the client’s requirements from the outset.

We built the frontend according to the design mockups, focusing on complex hero-section animations. Using and adapting the libraries provided by the client, we ensured smooth animation behavior when navigating between slides. In order to integrate this new feature, we had to modify the library in accordance with the reference example specified by the client: Liquid Distortion Effect – Example 5.

We also developed a custom animated fisheye element that reacts to user input in the contact form. The first images didn’t fit what we wanted, so we made the eye ourselves using SVG code. This let us do even better than what was asked for in looks and how it works.

The rest of the project was straightforward. We completed frontend, integrated it into the website, and conducted extensive QA testing. After verifying performance and visuals, we deployed the site to a live domain and performed technical SEO to ensure fast indexing.

Result:

As a result, we delivered a fast, dependable, and simple website that the agency now uses every day. And with a flexible constructor, the client continues to add new projects to the Work page independently.
