The Solution Features
We created the custom plugin that allows to connect to RSS feed API’s, for example with Feedly API and create posts based on the query from it. The user is able to add the feed posts into the categories in the Feedly account and then sync the posts with the website. There is an interface that allows to map the categories in Feedly with the categories in WordPress posts, so they appear automatically according to the mapping.
Besides the plugin we developed a Custom Content Builder based on Advanced Custom Fields, which allows to create pages from blocks and assigns the category for a block. This way the imported posts could be shown in groups according to the customer needs. Creating the content rich page with the latest posts from the API sources, but wrapped into user-defined front-end.
The plugin and builder are easily adaptable to different websites, so besides Ringside project, we made several other websites with different industry focus. Such solution saves time for the content manager, since the posting and formatting are templated, so all is required to add the posts into a feed and apply categories.
